Bosch 18V Cordless Concrete Nailer - Pro Tool Reviews

Professional Tool Reviews for Pros

Pneumatic concrete nailers were the standard for nailing into concrete until relatively recently. Now that battery power is seeping its way into most nooks and crannies of the tool industry, it’s no surprise that a number of brands offer a battery-powered concrete nailer to replace the gas cartridges of yesteryear. Among them is Bosch with the GNB18V-12 Cordless Concrete Nailer and we’re looking at what it brings to the jobsite for Pros. Anchor Concrete Nail

The GNB18V-12 concrete nailer can sink nails up to 1 1/2-inch into concrete. As part of Bosch’s ProFactor system, it uses a brushless motor coupled with a CORE18V battery to deliver performance equivalent to a corded or pneumatic nailer, according to the brand.

Its cordless design eliminates the need for consumable gas cartridges, so Bosch tells us it’s an ideal replacement for gas nailers. An air-spring functionality also provides fast, consistent nailing of both collated and single-shot nails.

Additionally, a variable depth adjustment lets you dial in how far you’d like to sink your nails into your workpiece.

The GNB18V-12 concrete nailer has an open system that allows you to use both collated nails or single shots. It comes with a 22-shot collated-shot magazine, and you have the option to purchase an extra-capacity 44-shot magazine separately if you want more nailing time between mag changes.

This concrete nailer has a manageable weight of 9 pounds and features a rubber overmold grip for added comfort. An LED work light also provides visibility in low-light conditions.

Additional convenience features include a three-pronged tool cap that lets you balance the tool on its head while loading nails, and a tool lock switch that locks the trigger when you’re not using the nailer.

This tool retails for $599 as a bare tool and $749 for the kit, including an 8Ah high-performance battery, charger, and carrying case. Bosch backs your purchase with a five-year warranty on the tool and a three-year warranty on the battery.
